Troops are your most important asset in Clash of Clans. They will help you build your empire faster than any other type of resource or structure.
Upgrade Your Troops
When you first start playing Clash of Clans, there are only two basic troops available for each village: the Archer and the Swordsman. However, as you research more upgrades, new troops become unlocked and available for purchase from the barracks, which is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
The number of troops that you can have depends on how many villagers you have in your village (or clan). Each time a villager is added to your village, one additional soldier becomes available. This means that if you have five villagers, you’ll get an extra Soldier with every level-up.
You also need to keep in mind that you can’t buy every single troop. The maximum amount of troops you can have per village is ten soldiers total, regardless of whether they’re purchased or earned through leveling up.
For example, let’s say you have 5 villagers. When you reach Village Level 2, you’ll earn another Soldier. So now you have 6 Soldiers. If you want to add another Soldier, you’ll have to wait until you reach Village Level 3 before you can do so. Once you reach Village Level 4, however, you won’t be able to add anymore Soldiers because you already reached the max limit of 10 Soldiers.
If you don’t like the default troops that come with your village, you can always switch to another village with different starting troops. For instance, if you really hate having Archers in your army, you can move all of your villagers over to a village with a different starting troop. Then when you rebuild your village, you can choose whichever starting troop you’d prefer.
Upgrade Spells Using Dark Elixir
Elixir is used to power both spells and troops. You can use Dark Elixir to create powerful spells and boost the stats of your troops. These spells include the Fireball spell, which deals damage to enemy troops, and the Heal spell, which heals your own troops.
To make these spells, you must first find the appropriate spellbook and then spend some Dark Elixir. There’s no specific requirement for what kind of spellbooks you need, but I recommend getting the ones that deal higher damage since those tend to be stronger overall.
Once you’ve found the right spellbook, just tap on it to open it. Inside the book, you’ll see several pages full of spells that you can either tap or drag down to the bottom bar to apply to your troops. You should try out each of these spells on a few different enemy troops before deciding which ones you want to use on your own troops.
Since you can only cast three spells at once, it makes sense to pick the strongest ones first. After applying all three spells, press “Cast” to activate them.
The downside to upgrading spells this way is that you can only upgrade one spell at a time. This means that you need to wait a certain amount of time between casting multiple spells. Also, you can only upgrade one spell per turn, so if you plan on upgrading a lot of spells, you may not be able to complete everything during a single battle.
Forge Spells And Upgrade Them With Dark Elixir
In addition to upgrading spells using Dark Elixir, you can also upgrade individual spells directly using gems. To do this, simply select the spell you want to upgrade, then tap the “Upgrade” button next to its name. From here, you’ll notice that there are several options available for upgrading the selected spell, including:
